Tuscany and Umbria Tour
Three-day historical and culture tour through Tuscany and Umbria Region. Departures-Guarantee with a minimum of 2 guests Starts/Ends in Florence
What an incredible opportunity for those who want to see the very best of Umbria and Tuscany. A delightful Sangiovese red from the world-famous Chianti Classico region. You’ll experience the captivating medieval village of San Gimignano, famed for its locally-produced Vernaccia white wine. And this is just day one because the second and third days will be spent exploring the beautiful region of Umbria. You’ll visit many incredible villages and cities, including Perugia, Gubbio, Orvieto, and Civita di Bagnoregio. For the duration of your trip, you’ll stay in your very own apartment within a rustic Tuscan farmhouse. For three days, you’ll be well looked after by our local guide and driver who will escort you to each and every location.
Day 1: Chianti Classico, San Gimignano
On the first day of the tour, you’ll have the opportunity to sample some of the best Tuscan wines on offer. Journeying into the Chianti Classico region. Next, we’ll head over to San Gimignano. You’ll have plenty of time to explore this wonderful medieval town. Stopping at a fantastic local winery and learning more about the Vernaccia di San Gimignano. In the late afternoon or early evening, our local guide and driver will transport you to a traditional Tuscan farmhouse.
Day 2: Gubbio and Perugia villages
First, we’ll say Ciao! to Umbria. So, during our stay here, we’ll visit two of the region’s most impressive towns. Perugia and Gubbio. For those familiar with the highly popular Italian comedy-crime series Don Matteo, starring Terrence Hill (Mario Girotti). The town may feel very familiar indeed. During the morning, you can wander the charming streets of Gubbio and see locals selling their produce. In the afternoon, our tour will take us to the university city of Perugia. The capital of the Umbria region.
Day 3: Orvieto, Civita di Bagnoregio.
The next morning, after check-out, we’ll travel south to see Civita di Bagnoregio. A magnificent Lazio town perched high upon a hilltop. This journey will take around 2 hours. We’ll make sure you have enough time to thoroughly explore this marvellous village and to enjoy a free traditional lunch. To visit the smaller village, we’ll need to walk almost 2km. This will cost an extra 5 euros per person. Later in the day, we’ll travel to the small city of Orvieto, famous for its white wine—Orvieto Classico—and its Duomo. Free to wander the city, you may choose to visit the beautiful theatre. When our Orvieto visit is done, we’ll start the two-hour drive back to Florence, where our tour will come to a close.
